#5 Angry Red Drum

Playwright and fall quarter Granada Artist-in-Residence Philip Kan Gotanda directs the first staging of his latest play #5 The Angry Red Drum, a work-in-progress.

This new piece pushes the bounds of aesthetics and storytelling in a multi-layered theatre experience. #5 Angry Red Drum is the story of two brothers, separated in their youths. They meet again by chance encounter and attempt to reconstruct the story of their lost brotherhood. Set in an apocalyptic world, #5 Angry Red Drum addresses the effects of war on our psyches and culture. Told in minimalist fashion, the play will employ elements of sound and movement.
