The Theatre and Dance Department offers unique opportunities to explore the wider world and bring the wider world to you both inside and outside the classroom.

Sideshow Physical Theatre is a resident performing company of the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts and the resident professional company in the Department of Theatre and Dance at UC Davis.

For over twenty years, our Granda Artist-in-Residence program has brought internationally recognized theatre professionals to campus each quarter to teach and create a performance work with students.

The Paul Taylor West Coast Dance Intensive at UC Davis, opening in Summer 2007, will bring the training program of one of New York's most acclaimed professional dance companies to the UC Davis campus each summer.

The UC Davis Shanghai Theatre Academy Exchange gives students the opportunity to travel to China to study Chinese Theatre techniques at their source and brings Chinese theatre practitioners to campus for performances and workshops. A troupe from Shanghai School of Chinese Opera visited UC Davis in October 2006 (Photo at right).

The UC Davis Globe Education Exchange gives students access to a wealth of educational resources and training at Shakespeare's Globe in London.
